A well deserved and hard-fought win by the boys against a physical Blackpool team. We started the game well and were dominating possession in the game. Our attackers caused their defence problems which resulted in them changing players to try and stop the constant pressure we had. We had some clear chances in the first half but none was taken. We conceded a soft free kick and they capitalised. Blackpool went into half time 1-0 up. Second half we came out strong and straight away had two chances to come level. We were wasteful with these opportunities and then got countered on. A shot from one of their players was then rebounded in after we failed to clear our lines. The boys found themselves 2-0 down but kept going. We changed our formation to three at the back and pushed our players forward to try and pull a goal back. We managed to get a goal through a fantastic lob from Sahil. We continued to attack and was dominating possession. We equalised with a brilliant cut back which was finished off by Sahil again. Our boys continued to persevere and looked like the only team who wanted to win the game. Step up Ellis Kenny! With only 2 minutes to go, Ellis won the game for us with a great goal. Absolute scenes as our players rushed to the corner flag to celebrate with Ellis who had his top off waving it around in the air. The game finished 3-2. A brilliant performance where the boys got what they put it and deserved to win. Every player in our squad played their part.
