Extremely proud of each and every player today!!
We started the first half too slow and quickly found ourselves behind after 2 excellent goals, credit to Chorley’s No.11. However, we settled towards the final minutes of the first half and did a great job pulling one back before the break via Sam’s superb finish.

During half time we discussed volume of communication, using more aggression when challenging for the ball and most importantly our will to win 1st and 2nd balls. The 2nd half response was excellent and we very quickly drew level at 2-2 with the momentum continuing to build - we had them!
Chorley went 3-2 up which saw our GK (Louie) injured and unable to continue in the net. Whilst battling through with only 8 men unfortunately came their 4th goal.
With Louie now well enough to resume as an outfield player we quickly regained the momentum we had prior to the injury and their 3rd goal and after a few minutes we managed to pull another goal back to make it 4-3. Despite our effort with more and more pressure and an abundance of opportunities we didn’t quite manage to find the equaliser and the final whistle blew.

The work rate and attitudes to persevere was fantastic and the boys ought to be extremely proud of themselves.

Heads up, we go again. We’ve been through the wringer today with more valuable minutes under our belt which I know will benefit the group moving forwards.
